Three people were stabbed at London's Notting Hill Carnival, including a 32-year-old woman who is in critical condition, the Metropolitan Police said Monday.

The incident is one of several violent incidents at the West London festival, which is expected to attract around 1 million people on Sunday and Monday.

Two men, a 29-year-old and a 24-year-old, were also stabbed at the event on Sunday night, but police said the woman's condition was critical.

As of Sunday night, authorities have made 90 arrests for various offenses, including assault on an emergency worker, possession with intent to supply, sexual offenses, and robbery.

The police also reported that 15 officers were assaulted during the carnival, while they were part of 7,000 patrolling personnel tasked with ensuring public safety.

Despite the festive atmosphere enjoyed by hundreds of thousands, police said a few attendees used the carnival to commit crimes.

To address these issues, the Metropolitan has significantly increased its policing presence, aiming to maintain safety while being prepared to take decisive action against those intent on violence.
