5 goalies in 2020-21 season provide fans with wealth of memorable moments
Donnarumma, Mendy, Neuer played pivotal roles in their teams' achievements, doing much more than just making saves

The 2020-21 football season provided spectators with a treasure trove of memorable moments, but five well-known goalies had a direct effect on their clubs.
The top five European football leagues completed half of their fixtures as 2021 drew to a close.
A lot has happened in "the Big 5" with top teams clashing for the title, but some goalkeepers had some memorable moments in their respective leagues and international competitions last season.
Goalies who left their mark in 2021:
Gianluigi Donnarumma (Milan/Paris Saint-Germain, Italy)
Paris Saint-Germain goalie Gianluigi Donnarumma enjoyed an incredible summer, lifting the EURO 2020 trophy with Italy at Wembley Stadium.
The 22-year-old was crowned Player of the Euros while his nation defeated England 3-2 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra time at the Euro 2020 final.
He beat Edouard Mendy of Chelsea and Manuel Neuer of Bayern Munich to win the Lev Yashin trophy, the specific award given to goalies at the Ballon d'Or ceremony organized by France Football
The goalie kicked off the season at Milan before moving to PSG as a free agent over the summer.
Donnarumma had 15 clean sheets and conceded 54 goals in 48 matches with AC Milan and has had nine goals in 12 matches for PSG so far.
Edouard Mendy (Chelsea, Senegal)
Edouard Mendy has been a key player for the Blues since his arrival last season.
The 29-year-old Senegalese was very effective last season in the UEFA Champions League.
The goalkeeper with Chelsea clinched the 2020-21 UEFA Champions League title after beating Manchester City 1-0.
He conceded 30 goals and kept 25 clean sheets in 45 matches last season and had 18 goals in 26 matches this season.
Ederson (Manchester City, Brazil)
Ederson Santana de Moraes, known as Ederson, has proven himself to be an outstanding goalie with exclusive shot-stopping, reflexes and match reading.
This helped him save the Sky Blues a lot of goals.
The Brazilian goalkeeper didn't manage to prevent 28 goals in the 36 English Premier League matches during the 2020-21 season.
The 28-year-old goalie helped City qualify for the Champions League final last season as he conceded five goals in 12 matches.
Ederson conceded 33 goals in 48 games in all lanes.
Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich, Germany)
Manuel Neuer of Bayern Munich enjoyed a stellar campaign with his team, leading them to both the Bundesliga title and FIFA Club World Cup.
The 34-year-old became a Bundesliga title owner for the ninth time, more often than any other goalie ever.
He made 46 appearances and conceded 55 goals in all lanes during the 2020-21 season for the Bavarians
Jan Oblak (Atletico Madrid, Slovenia)
The 28-year-old goalie was impressive for Athletico Madrid last season.
The Slovenian shot-stopper helped Atletico win the Spanish La Liga title in the 2020-21 season. He claimed the league's Zamora trophy for the most clean sheets in a season.
Oblak conceded 36 goals but had 20 clean sheets in 46 matches in all lanes.
Despite his loss of form, he remained one of the best goalies in the Spanish top-tier league.
