Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 89-75 in basketball action Sunday to take a 1-0 lead in the 2021 Spanish Liga Endesa Playoffs final series.

American shooting guard/small forward Cory Higgins led Barca for the game one victory at Madrid's WiZink Center, scoring 26 points.

Real Madrid's Cape Verdean center Walter Tavares racked up 16 points and had 11 rebounds.

Barcelona will have the home court advantage in game two, held at Palau Blaugrana on Tuesday.

One more win would bring the 2021 league title to Barcelona.

But if Real Madrid beat Barcelona, it would take the final series to a third match.
