ISTANBUL

European stocks closed Friday on a mixed note.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, rose 0.48 points, or 0.09%, to 525.05.

Italy's FTSE MIB was the best performer of the day, adding 180 points, or 0.53%, to end the day at 34,372.

Spain's IBEX 35 increased 43 points, or 0.38%, to 11,401.

France's CAC 40, on the other hand, lost 10 points, or 0.13%, to close at 7,630.

The UK's FTSE 100 fell three points, or 0.04%, to 8,376 and Germany's DAX shed five points, or 0.03%, to finish the week at 18,906.
