Nottingham Forest shocked Liverpool 1-0 while reigning champions Manchester City won four out of four games by defeating Brentford 2-1 on Saturday in the 2024-25 season of the English Premier League. 

English winger Callum Hudson-Odoi scored a long shot into the bottom right corner to give the visitors victory at Anfield in the 72nd minute.

With this unexpected defeat, Liverpool suffered their first defeat in four games and took a hit in their top-spot race with Manchester City.  

Manchester City keep winning  

Manchester City celebrated the achievement of four wins in a row on Saturday, defeating Brentford 2-1 thanks to Erling Haaland's goals.

Congolese attacker Yoane Wissa's header in the first minute gave Brentford an early lead at the Etihad Stadium.

The Sky Blues recovered quickly, with Norwegian star Haaland scoring twice in the 20th and 32nd minutes to complete the comeback.

Manchester City keep their top spot with 12 points, while Liverpool are behind with nine points in the standings.
