Russian missiles that hit an apartment building in the eastern Ukrainian city of Dnipro on Saturday killed five people, said the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.

Sharing photos of the scene, Valentyn Reznichenko said on Telegram that Russian missiles had destroyed the entrance of a nine-story building and that there are "already five dead."

Reznichenko said the "heart-wrenching" attack also injured 39 people, including seven children, and added: "The youngest is 3 years old."

Saying that all the children are in the hospital, he added that a 9-year-old girl is in serious condition.

A fire also broke out within an area of 70 square meters (753 square feet), according to Ukrainian state news agency Ukrinform. Also, 15 cars parked nearby caught fire, it reported.
