Slovenia declares 33 Russian diplomats persona non grata
Move aims to act 'in harmony' with other EU countries, according to Foreign Ministry
SARAJEVO, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Slovenia on Tuesday declared 33 Russian diplomats persona non grata as part of solidarity with Ukraine amid the Russia-Ukraine war.
The Slovenian Foreign Ministry in a statement said the decision to expel Russian diplomats aims to act "in harmony" with other EU countries.
The statement further noted that Russian diplomats were given 10 days to leave Slovenia.
Slovenia joined several European countries, including France, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden, which have expelled Russian diplomats in recent days.
The Russia-Ukraine war, which started on Feb. 24, has drawn international outrage, with the EU, US, and UK, among others, implementing tough sanctions on Moscow.
