Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 9,532.38 points, hiking 1.20% or 112.72 points from the previous close.

On Wednesday, the BIST 100 index plunged 2.12% to 9,419.66 points, with a daily transaction volume of 79 billion liras ($2.33 billion).

As of 09.59 a.m. (0659GMT), the US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 33.9749, the EUR/TRY rate stood at 37.4021, while the GBP/TRY rate was 44.3185.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,544.45, and the price of Brent crude oil was around $71.61 per barrel.
