Türkiye's economic confidence down slightly in February

ISTANBUL

Türkiye's economic confidence index was at 99 in February, down by 0.4% from January, the country's statistical institute revealed on Wednesday.

The consumer confidence index fell 1.3%, retail trade sector confidence was down 1% and the real sector confidence index dropped 0.9%.

Meanwhile, construction and services indexes increased by 1% and 1.6%, respectively.

The economic confidence index is a composite index that encapsulates consumers' and producers' evaluations, expectations, and tendencies about the general economic situation.

It indicates an optimistic outlook if it is above 100, or a pessimistic outlook if below 100.
